Setting the Gold Standard for collaborative working

Green School for Boys

Green School for Boys
Green School for Boys sets a leading example of collaborative working to overcome challenges and successfully design and build a stimulating 5 form entry secondary and sixth form school in Isleworth, London.

The finished school complements the existing and established Girls school nearby, creating an engaging environment and accommodating up to 750 secondary pupils, with a 150 student sixth form on an adjacent site.

The project successfully navigated numerous particular site constraints, including; Heathrow’s flight path, a major Thames Water main, listed buildings and surrounding residential properties, the adjacent Syon House and Park, and a world heritage buffer zone from the nearby Kew Gardens.

The innovative design approach of the entire team led to the completion of the new school four months ahead of programme and within budget. This impressive achievement was accomplished despite the site constraints and the challenges and restraints imposed whilst working during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The school's success is celebrated internally, with feedback emphasising its unique design and features “everyone who visits it recognises that it is very special with lots of awe and wonder moments - Sports Hall, Art Terrace, Spanish steps, Sky Pitch, Stairwells, light, spaciousness, Great Hall, Fitness studio; Muga, external impact and lovely classrooms”.
