New EV Charging Hub in Crawley

HNW Architects develops proposals for Arcus-PCD and Sixpenny Group to create a state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle Super Charging Hub at the Manor Royal Business District in Crawley.

The project will see a redundant office building demolished and replaced with a highly sustainable 28 charging bay Hub with a mixture of 22, 180, 240 and 400-kilowatt chargers, with eight dedicated charging stations for long wheelbase commercial vans and a battery energy storage system (BESS), with full PV coverage to the buildings and canopies on site.

The project will also include two prime retail and restaurant units, which the developer is letting to a national supermarket and food-on-the-go operator to provide the Manor Royal Business District with much-needed amenity and convenience facilities within walking distance, and a landscaped ‘pocket park’ frontage. The development will provide a positive bio-diversity net gain across the site, and is aspiring to achieve a minimum BREEAM Excellent rating.

Planning permission is currently being sought and it’s anticipated to open in early-to-mid 2025.
