HNW Architects have led the visioning masterplan and development framework for the regeneration of Emery Gate Shopping Centre and surrounding land in the heart of historic Chippenham. This work has culminated in a full planning application to repurpose and transform the site into a vibrant, sustainable town centre destination.
Our vision establishes a holistic masterplan for the area, integrating themed character zones, High Street revitalisation, and enhanced connectivity - particularly to Island Park and the River Avon.
The ambitious planning application proposes 40,000 sq ft of commercial space for retail, health, leisure, and dining, alongside 225 new homes in a highly sustainable location. By sensitively repairing and enhancing the historic High Street, the scheme reduces the built footprint, increases greenery and biodiversity, and creates new connections from the High Street to open spaces and the River Avon Corridor—all designed to re-energise and future-proof the town centre.
