With a strong emphasis on sustainability and social responsibility, HNW architects successfully reimagined the redevelopment of a brownfield site to realise Enso, a 282-bedroom student accommodation scheme in Colchester.
Alongside Melberry Development Management, an established Student Residential Accommodation provider, and funders Moorfield, we are proud to have played our part in placing sustainability, wellbeing and the togetherness of students at the heart of Enso.
Enso’s blend of ample, flexible, ‘together’ spaces, and generous en-suite and clustered rooms allow students to enjoy views over the city, meet, study, relax and work-out inside or outside. Enso provides students with great spaces to live, sleep and study within Colchester’s thriving student community.
Enso’s sustainable design includes the integration of recycled and reclaimed materials, enhanced thermal and airtight masonry façades, the successful utilisation of offsite manufacturing, focuses on green modes of transport including ample cycle storage, and achieves a BREEAM excellent rating.
