This week, we were delighted to visit site and witness the transformation of our South Street designs into reality.
A big thank you to Sunninghill Construction for the invitation and taking the time to show our team around the well progressed new homes.
The South Street project in Lancing is an exciting development, transforming a compact, underused car park into much-needed new mews homes for local vulnerable families. The seven one and two-bedroom new homes, for Adur District Council, will provide a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for those in need and without a place to call home.
Our innovative and sensitive design approach is breathing new life into this previously vacant site, creating a welcoming setting where families can thrive. The highly sustainable homes utilise off site manufacturing, prefabrication, and modern methods of construction. The SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) system is key to speeding up construction, minimising waste, reducing disruption, and ensuring exceptional quality.
The designs reflect and respond positively to the local vernacular and surrounding context. Natural materials have been chosen to withstand the site’s seaside environment and age gracefully. The palette includes textured brick, composite windows, coated metalwork and roofs, creating a simple yet robust aesthetic.
The landscape designs prioritise the retention of existing trees and introduction of native planting to enhance the site’s ecological and biodiversity. Each home has its own private garden alongside shared amenity space. Parking spaces with electrical charging points are provided for new residents as well as new parking spaces for neighbouring properties, secure cycle parking is also provided to encourage sustainable travel.
We are looking forward to seeing the project complete and the first residents move into their new homes.
