SEC Breakfast 2026
This morning saw the first South East Construction Breakfast of 2026, co-hosted by HNW Architects, DHA Planning, MacConvilles and Morgan Sindall Construction, with a panel discussion focussed on ‘Leadership Across the Ages’. As ever, the event was well attended and sparked a thoughtful, open and highly engaged discussion on how Leadership is evolving across our multi-generational industry.
The conversations explored how people at different stages of their careers experience Leadership, and how construction, consultancy and property teams can better harness a wide range of perspectives to strengthen collaboration and decision-making. While experience remains fundamental to our industry, there was strong consensus that effective leadership today relies increasingly on clear communication, self-awareness, adaptability, managing of expectations, and a willingness to keep learning.
Questions, comments and shared experiences from those in the room all reinforced that leadership is not defined by age or title, but by how people listen, respond and create space for others to contribute. Thank you to Guy Hannell for chairing the discussion, and to our panellists Terry Nitman, Rosie Mitchell and Lizzie Withall for their openness and insight. Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and contributed so positively to the conversation.
