Nearing completion
Scaffolding is down and external works are well underway. We are delighted to share progress updates on our Acklam Road project, which will provide 32 new homes, including 20 for social rent, alongside community facilities as part of Kensington and Chelsea’s New Homes Programme.
The intricate brickwork that is now fully revealed, featuring a pattern that nods to the unique texture on the neighbouring Al-Manaar’s lower façade. This bold reimagination of the surrounding context not only grounds the building within its locality but also ensures its distinctiveness.
Located adjacent to the elevated Westway A40 dual carriageway, the eight-storey building meets exacting fire safety and other technical standards, creating desirable homes where people will choose to live.
Our delivery role on this project has necessitated extensive collaboration with key stakeholders, including RBKC and NHBC, as well the separate planning, fire and building control departments. Particular attention to detail has been paramount, particularly around thermal, acoustic and fire performance to enable effective delivery on site.
In order to provide a usable and appealing amenity space for residents within the confines of the constrained site, the new building imaginatively incorporates a third-floor podium garden. The elevated garden space includes seating, soft landscaping, and incidental play elements catering for younger children.
